Purpose

Antihistamine

Nasal Decongestant

Uses

Temporarily relieves these symptoms due to the common cold, hay fever (allergic rhinitis) or other upper respiratory allergies:

runny nose
sneezing
itching of the nose or throat
itchy, watery eyes
nasal congestion
reduces swelling of nasal passages

Warnings

Do not exceed recommended dosage.

Do not use this product

if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.

Ask a doctor before use if you have

a breathing problem such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis
glaucoma
trouble urinating due to enlargement of the prostate gland
heart disease
high blood pressure
thyroid disease
diabetes

When using this product

excitability may occur, especially in children
may cause drowsiness
avoid alcoholic drinks
alcohol, sedatives, and tranquilizers may increase the drowsiness effect

nervousness, dizziness, or sleeplessness occur
symptoms do not improve within 7 days or are accompanied by fever

Store at 15° - 30°C (59° - 86°F). Supplied in a tight, light-resistant container with a child-resistant cap. Flemnil (Phenylephrine Hydrochloride) Tablets are dark purple, caplet-shaped, scored tablets, debossed "Poly" bisect "782" on one side and plain on the other.

Flemnil (Phenylpropanolamine Hydrochloride) has been withdrawn in Canada. In November 2000, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a public health advisory against the use of the drug.

Indication: For the treatment of nasal congestion, control of urinary incontinence, priapism and obesity.

Flemnil (Phenylpropanolamine Hydrochloride) (PPA), a sympathomimetic agent structurally similar to pseudoephedrine, is used to treat nasal congestion. Flemnil (Phenylpropanolamine Hydrochloride) is found in appetite suppressant formulations and with guaifenesinin in cough-cold formulations. In 2000, the FDA requested that all drug companies discontinue marketing products containing Flemnil (Phenylpropanolamine Hydrochloride), due to an increased risk of hemorrhagic stroke in women who used Flemnil (Phenylpropanolamine Hydrochloride).
