Levamisole:
Indication: For adjuvant treatment in combination with fluorouracil after surgical resection in patients with Dukes' stage C colon cancer. Also used to treat malignant melanoma and head/neck cancer. Levamisole was originally used as an antihelminthic to treat worm infestations in both humans and animals.
Exit (Levamisole) is a synthetic imidazothiazole derivative that has been widely used in treatment of worm infestations in both humans and animals. As an anthelmintic, it probably works by targeting the nematode nicotinergic acetylcholine receptor. As an immunomodulator, it appears that Exit (Levamisole) is an immunostimulant which has been shown to increase NK cells and activated T-cells in patients receiving this adjuvantly along with 5FU for Stage III colon cancer.
Mebendazole:
Exit is a worming medication a broad spectrum of action, it is most effective when enterobioze. This drug causes irreversible disturbance of glucose utilization in the body of the worm and inhibits the synthesis of ATP.
Exit (Mebendazole) is practically not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The plasma protein binding is 90%. This medication is distributed unevenly in organs and accumulates in adipose tissue, liver, and larvae of helminths. Exit (Mebendazole) is metabolized in the liver to 2-amino derivative.
T1/2 is 2.5-5.5 hours. More than 90% of the dose is excreted unchanged in feces. Grown deep portion (5-10%) is excreted by kidneys.
Enterobiasis, ascariasis, hookworm disease, strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, trichinosis, teniasis, echinococcosis, mixed helminth infections.
For adults and children over 10 years at enterobioze a single dose is 100 mg.
For children aged 2 to 10 years a single dose is 25-50 mg. In the case of a high probability of re-infestation the drug taking repeats after 2-4 weeks in the same dose.
It is recommended that simultaneous treatment of all family members.
When ascariasis, trichuriasis, hookworm disease, teniasis, strongyloidiasis and mixed helminthiasis - 100 mg in the morning and evening for 3 days. When trichinosis - 200-400 mg 3 times / day for 3 days, from 4th to 10th day - 400-500 mg 3 times / day. When echinococcosis - 500 mg 2 times / day in the first 3 days, then the same dose 3 times / day in the next 3 days. Later Exit used in doses of 25-30 mg / kg / day in 3-4 doses.
Digestive system: rarely - nausea, abdominal pain; when used in high doses for long periods of time may be vomiting, diarrhea, transient elevation of liver enzymes in serum.
CNS: Rarely - dizziness when used in high doses for long periods of time - a headache.
Hematopoietic system: when used in high doses for long periods of time may be leukopenia, anemia, eosinophilia.
Urinary system: when used in high doses for long periods of time - hematuria, cylindruria.
Other: when used in high doses for long periods of time - an allergic reaction, hair loss.
Pronounced liver disfunctions, pregnancy, lactation (breastfeeding), children under 2 years of age, hypersensitivity to Exit (Mebendazole).
Exit is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).
Category of the fetus by FDA - C.
With prolonged use of Exit (Mebendazole) it is necessary to control the peripheral blood picture, liver and kidney function.
Within days after taking Exit (Mebendazole) avoid drinking alcohol.
After receiving Exit (Mebendazole) do not use a laxative.
It is mandatory a periodic examination of smears of the anal region and the feces after treatment (therapy is effective in the absence of helminths or their eggs for 7 consecutive days).
Exit (Mebendazole) reduces insulin requirements in diabetic patients.
It is necessary to avoid a simultaneously taking of Exit (Mebendazole) with lipophilic substances. With simultaneous use with cimetidine it may increase, and carbamazepine, and other inducers of metabolism to reduce the concentration of Exit (Mebendazole) in the blood.
Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain. With prolonged use at high doses: reversible hepatic dysfunction, hepatitis, neutropenia.
Treatment: gastric lavage, enemas, activated charcoal method; there is no specific antidote.
Depending on the reaction of the Exit after taken, if you are feeling dizziness, drowsiness or any weakness as a reaction on your body, Then consider Exit not safe to drive or operate heavy machine after consumption. Meaning that, do not drive or operate heavy duty machines after taking the capsule if the capsule has a strange reaction on your body like dizziness, drowsiness.
