Indication: Used in the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, arrhythmias, and anxiety.
Captol is a non-selective beta blocker with some intrinsic sympathomimetic activity. Captol is a lipophilic beta blocker which passes the blood-brain barrier more easily than water soluble beta blockers. As such, it is associated with a higher incidence of CNS-related side effects than hydrophilic ligands such as atenolol, sotalol and nadolol. Captol is an potent beta-blocker and should not be administered to asthmatics because it can cause irreversible airway failure and inflammation.
Depending on the reaction of the Captol after taken, if you are feeling dizziness, drowsiness or any weakness as a reaction on your body, Then consider Captol not safe to drive or operate heavy machine after consumption. Meaning that, do not drive or operate heavy duty machines after taking the capsule if the capsule has a strange reaction on your body like dizziness, drowsiness. As prescribed by a pharmacist, it is dangerous to take alcohol while taking medicines as it exposed patients to drowsiness and health risk.
