Ginette uses

Ginette consists of Cyproterone Acetate, Ethinyl Estradiol.

Cyproterone Acetate:

An anti-androgen that, in the form of its acetate (cyproterone acetate), also has progestational properties. It is used in the treatment of hypersexuality in males, as a palliative in prostatic carcinoma, and, in combination with estrogen, for the therapy of severe acne and hirsutism in females.

Indication: For the palliative treatment of patients with advanced prostatic carcinoma.

Ginette (Cyproterone Acetate) is an antiandrogen. It suppresses the actions of testosterone (and its metabolite dihydrotestosterone) on tissues. It acts by blocking androgen receptors which prevents androgens from binding to them and suppresses luteinizing hormone (which in turn reduces testosterone levels).

Ethinyl Estradiol:

A semisynthetic alkylated estradiol with a 17-alpha-ethinyl substitution. It has high estrogenic potency when administered orally, and is often used as the estrogenic component in oral contraceptives.

Indication: For treatment of moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms associated with the menopause, female hypogonadism, prostatic carcinoma-palliative therapy of advanced disease, breast cancer, as an oral contraceptive, and as emergency contraceptive.

Ginette (Ethinyl Estradiol) is a synthetic derivative of the natural estrogen estradiol. It is one of two estrogens currently used in oral contraceptive pills. The other, mestranol, is converted to Ginette (Ethinyl Estradiol) before it is biologically active. Ginette (Ethinyl Estradiol) and norethindrone are used together as an oral contraceptive agent.
